What is "Tolls by Mail"?
Tolls are being collected at the Henry Hudson Bridge (HHB) via non-stop All Electronic Toll Collection (AET). No cash is collected at the toll plaza. Vehicles with E-ZPass proceed as usual; vehicles that do not have E-ZPass also proceed non-stop and cameras will photograph the license plate and a TOLL BILL will be mailed to the registered owner.

"Tolls by Mail" saves customers time because they do not have to wait in line and stop to pay at the cash lanes. It is also good for the environment by reducing pollution caused by vehicles idling while waiting to pay cash tolls.
How does "Tolls by Mail" work?
TOLL BILLs will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle, using either the address provided by the relevant state motor vehicle office or an updated address provided by the United States Postal Service. TOLLS BILLs will be sent periodically, depending upon your travel frequency and the amount of your accumulated tolls.
Will I pay more for "Tolls by Mail"?
No, tolls charged by mail are at the same rate as the cash toll. However the preferred method of payment for tolls on these facilities is through the use of an E-ZPass Tag. E-ZPass offers substantial discounts from the cash toll rate to E-ZPass New York Customer Service Center account holders. These include accounts managed by MTA Bridges and Tunnels, the New York State Thruway Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Can you send my TOLL BILLs by email?
Yes, when paying your TOLL BILL online or through the paper payment slip, please provide your email address for future trips. We will also use this email address for other important notifications.
I am a private customer with multiple vehicles. Why am I getting separate TOLL BILLs for my vehicles?
Generally, a private TOLL BILL may list up to 4 vehicles if the vehicle registration information is the same. If you wish to open an E-ZPass account, you may register multiple vehicles and will no longer receive TOLL BILLs and your tolls will be paid automatically from your E-ZPass account. E-ZPass offers substantial discounts from the Tolls by Mail toll rate to E-ZPass New York Customer Service Center account holders. These include accounts managed by MTA Bridges and Tunnels, the New York State Thruway Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

If your E-ZPass New York account was in good standing on the date of the toll transaction(s), complete and return the customer certification on the back of the TOLL BILL, the tolls will be deducted from your E-ZPass New York account, and the vehicle license plate number(s) will be added to your E-ZPass New York account.
